Zai Liang

梁在教授分别获得芝加哥大学社会学博士和布朗大学博士后学位,现任美国纽约州立大学奥尔巴尼分校社会学系教授,兼任西安交通大学人文社会科学学院特聘教授。曾任美国社会学学会亚洲和美国亚裔研究分会主席。他更是2018年纽约州立大学校长奖学金和创新活动优秀奖获得者。自2004年以来,他一直在美国奥尔巴尼市担任中国城市研究网络主任或副主任。他的主要研究兴趣包括国内和国际移民、城市化和城市社会学。他的研究涉及中国、美国以及近期的非洲并且得到了超过12个基金会的支持,其中包括美国国家科学基金会、美国国立卫生研究院、福特基金会、斯宾塞基金会和中国社会科学基金会等。目前,他主持的研究项目主要有:(1)迁移与儿童幸福感(2)中国的国际移民与融合。

Zai Liang received Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago and conducted post-doctoral research at Brown University. He is currently Professor of Sociology at the University at Albany and Distinguished Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is the former chair of Asia and Asian American section of the American Sociological Association. He is a recipient of the 2018 SUNY Chancellor's Excellence Award in Scholarship and Creative Activities. Since 2004, he has been serving as Director or Co-Director of Urban China Research Network based at Albany. His main research interests are migration/immigration, urbanization, and urban sociology. He pursues these interests in the contexts of China, the United States, and more recently Africa. His research has been supported by more than 12 foundations, including the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the Ford Foundation, the Spencer Foundation, and China Social Science Foundation among others. He is currently leading major research projects on (1) migration and children’s well-being and (2) international migration and integration in China.
