Speaker Bio
Dr. , Zhiwei Shan got his bachelor’s degree from Jilin University, mater degree from Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academic of Sciences and Ph. D degree from University of Pittsburgh. He conducted his post-doctoral research at National Center for Electron Microscopy, Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory. After this, he joined Hysitron Inc., a world leader in manufacturing nano-mechanical testing instruments, as a product line manager and later as the director of Hysitron Applied Research Center. From 2010 to 2016, Dr. Shan was a professor in School of Materials Science and Engineering. Because of his achievements, he was selected as “Chang Jiang Scholars”, and was granted “The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”.
单智伟，博士，1974生，先后于吉林大学，中科院金属研究所和美国匹兹堡大学获本科（1996），硕士（1999）和博士（2005）学位；博士毕业同年到美国劳伦兹伯克利国家实验室从事博士后研究工作并于2006年加入著名的纳米力学制造商Hysitron公司工作，先后任部门经理和应用研究中心主任。 2010年回国任教于西安交通大学材料科学与工程学院，国家杰出青年基金获得者，现任材料科学工程学院院长。
