Abstract
Although China produces more than 80% of the world's total raw magnesium, we are still lack the technology that can produce high purity magnesium in large scale with affordable cost. This, in turn, seriously restricts the development and application of these high-end products and thus threatens the strategic security of the country in related fields. In this report, I will share with you my story with magnesium. By recourse to the innovation of technical principle, we have invented a technology that can meet the market demand for magnesium’s purity and price at the same time. The industrial application of our technology expects to improve the quality and performance of magnesium based new material and performance.
虽然我国生产的原镁占全世界总产量的80%以上,但缺乏能大规模低成本生产高纯镁的技术,进而威胁到国家在相关领域的战略安全。本报告讲述了单智伟研究团队如何通过工艺原理创新,使所生产的高纯镁能够同时满足市场对其纯度和价格的要求,所取得成果的应用和推广,期望全面提升镁基新材料的品质和性能。
Speaker Bio
Dr. Shan, Zhiwei got his bachelor’s degree from Jilin University, mater degree from Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academic of Sciences and Ph. D degree from University of Pittsburgh. He conducted his post-doctoral research at National Center for Electron Microscopy, Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory. After this, he joined Hysitron Inc., a world leader in manufacturing nano-mechanical testing instruments, as a product line manager and later as the director of Hysitron Applied Research Center. From 2010 to 2016, Dr. Shan was a professor in School of Materials Science and Engineering. Because of his achievements, he was selected as “Chang Jiang Scholars”, and was granted “The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars”.
单智伟,博士,1974生,先后于吉林大学,中科院金属研究所和美国匹兹堡大学获本科(1996),硕士(1999)和博士(2005)学位;博士毕业同年到美国劳伦兹伯克利国家实验室从事博士后研究工作并于2006年加入著名的纳米力学制造商Hysitron公司工作,先后任部门经理和应用研究中心主任。 2010年回国任教于西安交通大学材料科学与工程学院,国家杰出青年基金获得者,现任材料科学工程学院院长。
